Pharmaceutical Package Testing
As regulators increasingly look for proof of pharmaceutical product stability throughout the supply chain, it is critical for manufacturers to ensure that pharmaceuticals maintain stable temperatures and endure handling from warehouse - to transit - to shelf.
DDL performs the following types of pharmaceutical package testing as quoated by PDA Technical Report No: 39.
Thermal Performance Testing
From highly controlled cold chain package testing facilities, located in Minnesota, New Jersey and California, DDL tests thermal packaging for pharmaceutical companies.
Over a 72 – 120 hour timeframe, DDL conducts a stability test and develops a specification designed to inform pharmaceutical package testing clients of conditions that will push a thermal container out of the 2-8 centigrade (an indication that contents may lose active ingredients or even spoil) desired shipping and storage temperature.
Distribution Simulation Testing
Expert DDL package testing engineers test EPS materials and hard foam packaging. DDL also tests packaging inside of pharmaceutical shipping containers including gel packs, glass vials, bottles and other types of interior pharmaceutical packaging. Dynamic distribution and drop testing validation of pharmaceutical packaging is also a service available through DDL.
Choosing a Package Testing Expert
When searching for a pharmaceutical package testing expert, be sure that the company’s testing is unbiased. The best way to assure this is to find a package testing vendor that remains independent from package manufacturers.
Because DDL maintains strict ethical standards, we are committed to conducting unbiased pharmaceutical package testing. Unlike other package testing labs that sell both testing and packaging, DDL will never recommend or urge you to buy a specific brand of packaging. Because of this policy, DDL can remain focused on high-quality and valid pharmaceutical package testing.
